Making frictionless Dapps — Portis and NFT.Kred partner to provide NFT event experience

NFT.Kred has partnered with Portis to provide NFT ownership with a simplified experience for mainstream audiences.

Portis is a cross-browser wallet solution that aims to make decentralized applications accessible to mainstream users. (CEO Tom Teman talks to Anthony Pompliano about it here)

With a focus on developers, the Portis SDK (which is installed with 3 lines of code) provides DApps with an integrated wallet solution — Simplifying the UX to feel like a regular web app. Access to a gas relay allows developers to abstract annoying gas charges away from end users, and in-wallet ETH purchases make topping up your account relatively painless.

Portis is compatible with both Fungible and Non-Fungible Tokens.

“NFTs will open the floodgates of new users to the blockchain. They’re easy to understand and they’re relatable.”

- Scott Gralnick, Portis Co-Founder and Chief Business Officer

NFT.Kred is a platform for creating custom, actionable Non-Fungible Tokens with social engagement.

Simple custom Themes allow brands, groups, and events to activate their own whitelabel marketplaces to distribute and engage their communities with branded NFTs.

The platform has been adopted by several events as a digital replacement for the traditional, and less environmentally conscious “show bag” experience (recycled shopping bags full of stickers and flyers).

In May 2019, NFT.Kred hosted the inaugural NFT Swag Bag at Coindesk’s Consensus conference in New York City. Over 1,250 attendees each claimed 30+ actionable NFTs from event organizers and sponsors (some of which could be redeemed for physical giveaways, downloads and future event tickets).

Coindesk’s Global Director of Events, Peter Bordes, led the project, and said:

“We couldn’t be happier. Sponsors are driving more attendee engagement; Attendees are claiming prizes from sponsors; and people are having fun. It’s a nice easy on-ramp to the blockchain.”

The very nature of conferences and physical events means that attendees are always on the go. There are often limited places to sit down and use your laptop, and many (of the 4,000+) attendees function completely on their phones and tablets for the duration of the event.

In this environment, dependency on device or browser specific wallet solutions creates a sticking point.

Are you using chrome on your computer? Great, use MetaMask! Running iOS? Try Trust. Interested in replacing Chrome with a wallet integrated browser?….. NFT.Kred needed a solution that worked for everyone.

While many wallets solutions (e.g. MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Coinbase Wallet, Brave Browser) place the burden on the end users by making them install a third-party application, NFT.Kred’s integration with Portis provides a cross-browser, device-agnostic solution that suits just about everyone.

“New blockchain users need an easy and familiar experience. The Portis and NFT.Kred solution allows users to claim their NFTs with a simple cloud email and password login.”

- Scott Gralnick
